Recommendations and reflection...

Updated: Aug 7

Hey Blog!

After returning home, I can say it’s really good to be back. I It's been less than a week since my 36 hour travel day home (3 flights: Singapore to Seoul, Seoul to Atlanta, and Atlanta to Greenville). Surprisingly, the time change has barely phased me. I have no idea how that's been possible but I decided to pull an all-nighter to get back to "US time" prior to my flight home, and somehow it's miraculously worked. Study abroad is such a whirlwind and it’s good to finally have all my things in one place, and just enjoy the comforts of home (while seeing all the people I missed). But, it’s always going to be bittersweet!! If Brazil wasn’t coming up so soon I probably would have wanted to stay in Southeast Asia longer, but since I leave again in a month I was ready and excited to be back.

In light of reflecting on this past semester, I wanted to highlight some cool things/areas that I really enjoyed (or that I wanted to see but ran out of time to). Hopefully this can be helpful to anyone visiting or studying in Singapore!

  • Marina Bay Sands

    • Hotel (very famous and very expensive)

    • Mall

    • Ce La Vi club (on the roof of the hotel)

  • Gardens by the Bay (there's four areas to explore)

  • The Raffles Hotel

    • Singapore Sling Bar

  • Botanic Gardens (National Orchid Garden too):

  • Sentosa Island

  • F1 Stadium (try to see this during the Lunar New Year festival)

  • Singapore Cable Car

  • Marina Bay (the whole area by the water!)

  • Boat Quay and Clarke Quay (you can do a river cruise too)

    • Singapore sling shot

  • Changi Airport (the Jewel and activities)

  • Singapore Zoo

  • Little India

  • Haji Lane

  • Kampong Glam

  • China Town (Buddha tooth relic temple)

  • Singapore Flyer and Singapore Slingshot

  • Treetop Walk

  • Merlion Park

  • Sri Mariamman Temple

  • **If you're a student who will be studying at ESSEC Singapore, Star Vista and Fusionopolis malls are right next door and both are perfect places to eat or hang out!

Here's some casual out of order pictures of various locations that I listed if you wanted a visual! :)

Singapore will ALWAYS have a piece of my heart and it's so hard when you find a home in a place that's soooo far away. I've learned so much about myself and the world from living there, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience overall. I know for a fact that I'll be back to visit. My cup was so full leaving and now I'm preparing for my next semester in Rio!! It's surreal that this is my third and LAST preparation for an abroad semester. As of now I don't have housing in Brazil and I'm not really sure the classes that I will be taking, but it'll all work out. :) Soaking up my four weeks in the USA!

I appreciate all of you so so much for following along this semester, the support was so amazing and I am so thankful for everyone and the encouragement, My cup is FULL after this whole experience and for the opportunity to write this blog.

Much love and until next month... <3
